CLUE: Mystery Murder at the Museum

  • Museum of Work and Culture 42 S Main Street Woonsocket, Ri 02895 (map)

The Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative is ready to execute its third very popular Murder at the Museum fundraiser event.  We are returning to the 1920s again this year to bring everyone’s favorite board game into real life.  Clue is about discovering who the murderer was, with what weapon, and in what room.  Guests will be invited to the well-known landmark in Woonsocket, The Museum of Work & Culture, to join in on the fun!

All your favorite characters, including Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Mr. Green, Ms. Scarlett, Mrs. Peacock, and Mrs. White, will be there.  Hear about their grand and extravagant lives living it up in the hoity-toity North End of Woonsocket.  The characters will have clues to give out if you know how to get them to squeal about what they know.  With all their money and fame, the question is, which of them would slay someone to stay at the top of their class?

The weapons will be located in the various rooms at the Museum.  Guests will be invited to tour the exhibits throughout the museum to locate which rooms have weapons.  If a room has no weapon, then you know that no murder took place in that room.  Clues will also be made available to find in several local businesses.  Stay tuned to the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative’s Facebook page and website to track down the locations of the clues.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024.  Ciro’s Tavern will provide cocktails and refreshments starting at 6 pm.  Under new ownership, River Falls will serve a killer dinner at 7 pm following the cocktail hour.  Tickets are $45 per person.  The murderer will be identified at 8:45 pm, so you must submit your guesses before that time to be eligible for one person to win a $50 gift card to River Falls.  Guests are encouraged to dress to impress in their favorite 20s attire with a costume contest.

Event Chair Garrett Mancieri says, "Clue has always been one of my favorite board games, and so many people too have enjoyed playing with their family and friends.  This is a great way to raise funds for our local downtown board and live out the game we have played for decades in real life." This event is a fundraiser for the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative, which aims to unify the community and revitalize downtown Woonsocket.

So get a clue and join us to have some deadly fun on a Saturday night in downtown Woonsocket!
